Above is a studio portrait of 29811 Gunner Robert James O’Hara, 119th Howitzer Battery from Blackburn, Victoria. A 31-year-old orchardist prior to enlisting on 23 February 1916, he embarked for overseas from Melbourne on 3 October 1916 aboard HMAT Aeneas. Shortly after his arrival in England, he was admitted to Hospital where he died of meningitis on 29 December 1916. Gunner O’Hara is buried in the Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire, UK.
